Fairfield Businessman to Implement Innovative Small Business Marketing System in Foundation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE small business marketing expert, Paul Flood
Fairfield Community Foundation Gets Help to Reach $5,000,000 Goal

After seeing the Fairfield Community Foundation award over $60,000 in college scholarships to Fairfield High School seniors in 2006, Fairfield resident Paul Flood thought, "It’s incredible that they give so much to these deserving students. They’re doing this annually and if this is what they can do just seven years after their founding; imagine how much they will accomplish in the future!"

In the fall of 2006, Paul started his consulting business, Paul Flood Marketing, which offers small businesses a system to exponentially and rapidly increase their sales and profits. "After starting the business, I thought we may be able to help the Foundation reach its fund raising goals because it is a true jewel in our community. Those of us who are aware of the Foundation realize what it means to Fairfield and our future. I want to do my part to spread that message."

He contacted Foundation Director Betsy Hope to volunteer his services. With aggressive fund-raising goals and limited resources, Betsy was thrilled with the offer. "I've known Paul and his wife Brenda for a long time and they have always been willing to volunteer in the community. He explained how he wanted to use his marketing system to help the Foundation and it made a lot of sense to me," said Betsy. We presented the concept to the Foundation Board and they gave an enthusiastic go-ahead.

The marketing system is called the Hidden Marketing Assets, or HMA, and he says he plans to use it to increase donations in three ways: "We can get new donors, existing donors can give more or they can give more frequently. This system leverages the existing assets of the Foundation so we can accomplish all three at a much lower cost than would normally be incurred with traditional marketing."

Foundation Director Betsy Hope adds, "The timing of Paul's offer is very good. In addition to raising funds for the various endowments, we have a serious need for unrestricted monies, most especially donations to our Administrative Cost and Administrative Endowment Funds. These funds underwrite the daily cost of running the foundation. The reality is that, like any organization, we experience inflation and have a cost of doing business. This marketing system will be a big help for us in raising administrative funds as well as the more traditional donations."

Flood adds, "The Foundation was formed by a group of dedicated volunteers dedicated to investing in the future of Fairfield. It's really an honor for me to be able to help such an outstanding organization that does so much for our community. It’s a chance to help with immediate needs and an opportunity to contribute to Fairfield’s future."
