Can Mean the Difference
Between Your Success and Failure

Database marketing is an absolute must in ANY business. You must have some type of system in place for keeping in touch with your clients and prospects.

What information do you have about your customers? Do you keep any at all? Most businesses have little information and knowabsolutely nothing about their customers. Many do not even collect names or addresses. Many have no idea about database marketing
With today's technology, there is really no excuse to not havethis information. Ideally, you should be able to rapidly accessnames, phone, address, email address and purchase history. Bonusinformation includes birthdays, anniversaries, hobbies, where they went to school and their professional affiliations.

Send clients and prospects birthday and anniversary cards. Sendthem referrals for their businesses. Write a personal notesomething to the effect of, "Dear Client, I was talking to a friend the other day and I thought that she could really use yourservices. I told her I would pass her name along to you so she is expecting your call." Follow up with a phone call to see howthings went.

If you see an article relevant to a client or prospect, cutit out and send it with a personal note that says, "Thoughtyou'd enjoy this article. Best regards..." If their spouse orchild is in the newspaper, cut out the article and send it to them.

Send a note to your suppliers that thanks them for their qualityproducts or services. Tell them how you have remained loyal in the face of increasing competition and that you would like them to refer you to their clients and suppliers.
